Diamond Dozen sounds good on paper, but can this game stack up against its competition? The market is saturated, and just having the word diamond in your name doesn’t portray the same opulence it once did. The question becomes if this game is good enough to win you real diamonds. While this isn’t the worst slot game you’ll ever find, you’ll probably get bored of this one before you ever win diamond money.

Boring Graphics

The first thing you’ll notice is the graphics, which look like they belong on an early Windows computer. The art style leaves something to be desired throughout the game. The few parts of the background that are showing depict wavy water with sailboats on it, which is an odd choice.

It’s not surprising that diamonds play a significant role in the symbols of this game. There are multiple diamonds in shades of white and blue, and facing different ways to differentiate themselves. The standard playing card symbols are all diamond-encrusted. You will also find a woman wearing diamonds with diamonds behind her, a diamond ring, a man with diamonds behind him, and, for some reason, a regular rose.

The one thing this game has going for it is the sound, which they did a relatively good job at. There isn’t music playing constantly in the background, which is a bonus, but what’s even cooler is when you hit a win, it plays a funky lounge jazz that will pump you up for more wins. The only other significant sound effect lends some authenticity to the game because it sounds like a traditional slot machine when the reels start, while they are spinning, and when they stop.

One of These Things Is Not Like the Other

This game has some cool features to make up for the fact that it looks like it was made in the 1990s. The features are all about the diamonds, and the white and blue diamonds have different benefits. White diamonds are considered the scatter symbol in this game, and landing three or more of those anywhere on the map opens up an admittedly fun mini-game. When that happens, you can click on each of the diamonds, and behind them, you will find a multiplier. Those multipliers are multiplied together and then multiplied by your line win for a significant payout.

Blue diamonds have their own strengths, and they differ depending on how many you have. If you hit three blue diamonds in a single spin, it unlocks 12 free spins, and anything you win in those free spins is doubled. If you hit five blue diamonds in a single spin, it multiplies any wins by 100x. The most fantastic feature of the whole game is that these bonuses can be re-triggered during the free spins. So, while the potential is low, there is a possibility for life-changing payouts with this game.

All Over the Place

This game seems like it was likely at the top of its class when it came out, but slot games have been evolving quickly. The main problem with this game is poor graphics on a boring theme. On the other hand, the features are unbelievable, and one good spin could win you life-changing money. If the money is all you’re concerned about, this game is worth a try. If you are looking for a total package, this won’t be the game for you. Despite its negative attributes, there is still a place for Diamond Dozen, and one could only hope to hit multiple bonuses while playing.
